Minutes

As the Clock Moves

Minutes represents a departure and a return to the old Kosmodrome style of story telling. In the past we would just tell one story over a long period of time, now we have ventured into the multiple plots of the same story.

Minutes is our representation of one citizen of the Soviet Union and his dramatic story. In the new society that was being built on the blood of the past people who just a few years prior would have been tied to the land unable to move from the land and unable to make a better stab at life.

Our story begins with the birth of our unnamed character at the beginning of the October revolution. Like most of the population of Russia at that time he was born poor and unknown. In the first years of his life his parents were both killed by the White army during the Russian civil war. They were brave fighters who would die for the idea of socialism.

Our protagonist is soon sent into the harsh reality of life in this brave new world. Soon he realizes that the best way to survive is by joining up with the Communist party and making his stake in the world.

After this his story follows much of Soviet history. He joins, is purged, sent to work in the gulag, is rehabilitated, is corrupted and soon dies.

One could make the suggestion that our character is an allegory for Russia. We will not argue this point we leave it up to the listener to decide our true intentions.
