Musik by From A Secret Place
Lyrics by Wolf Morrison

Like an Angel’s face, her open smile conveys
Abundant warmth and strength, but cannot hide her pain
Her confidence, portrayed as constantly maintained,
Is yet somehow betrayed by something in her gaze
And softly spoken, carefully, her words are chosen
To defend a secret she retains, like a treasure, held close to heart,
Hidden deep within, where she can keep it safe

Her dreams are troubled by twists of fate both seen and unforeseen
And, now burdened by the weight of change, she finds herself, taxed beyond her means
But only half of the story told will ever be hers alone, to hold
And only half of this broken soul will ever be hers to call her own

Her easy laugher, alive and unrestrained, in every sense, eloquent of a certain gentle grace
Like a candle flame, by shelter from the wind, sustained,
She seems to live- only for the day
Of carelessness she gives no hint, her survival evidence
That she depends on more than simple faith- as she builds a wall around her heart,
A secret place, where she can still feel safe

Her dreams are troubled by memories of things she's never seen
Still within these visions, she believes, she may find the answers that she seeks
But only half of the story told will ever be hers alone, to hold
And only half of this broken soul will ever be hers to call her own
