Time to catch up on the news.

The Night Friends Show on August 9th, at The Parlor, went very well. The music was intense and well recieved. A big thanks to everyone that came out. Night Friends will be playing live more often in the future, and we will keep everyone updated on when and where the shows will be. Night Friends is also working on new material and news about that will be released as it becomes available.

Kosmodrome is currently working on a lot of new material and some of that should manifest itself soon. As with all Kosmodrome projects, it is exploring new dimensions and taking the sounds in very interesting new directions.

Fiery Winter continues to work on its debut release while contemplating its future sound. The project is going well and there should be more news on it soon.

Justin has started a music blog which can be found here. We are experimenting with the idea of occasional free releases of 7-Point material here, so keep an eye on it. The blog is not specifically about 7-Point projects, though. There will be a lot of just generally cool music related news and reviews there. It can be found here:

themoonbog.blogspot.com

On September 14th, 7-Point got a good review from terrornoiseaudio here:

http://terrornoiseaudio.blogspot.com/

You have to scroll down to find it at this point, but its worth a look, and there is a lot of good info on other noise and industrial bands here as well.

The 7-Point Cafepress page is undergoing some changes. When things are finished a link will be posted to the new material there.

2008 has shaped up to be a good year for 7-Point, musically, and there should be more news and more music soon.

The Scab Sand Witch show turned out to be a very fun experience.  We are very thankful to Liz from the Opera House for making the event happen.  Her Dromez set was stellar and we look forward to hearing more of her output in the future.  We did learn that cars pick the most inappropriate times to fail.  We also learned that sometimes recording equipment can choose the oddest times to fail and freak out.  We did get a portion of the set recorded and it is the plan to release it in some sort of format in the future.

Night Friends will be playing a show on Saturday August 9th at The Parlor.  Justin is getting deep into the recording for the new full length.

A Fiery Winter is currently in recording mode.  Once the vocals have been recorded, there will be a little more tweaking going on in the music to add a little more atmosphere.  You can check out the progress by going here.

Kosmodrome is recording recording recording to build an aural army for a multi-release thing.

AkinoT is out recording for his various projects as well.

Everyone is doing a ton of great work.  This has turned out to be one of our best years.  New projects are coming, older projects are getting reactivated, and some cool small releases are coming soon.

Thank you!

7-23-08

Scab Sand Witch will be performing live for the first time in several years.  They will be celebrating the release of the new album, "Spiritual Apartheid" in Austin, TX at The Opera House this Friday (7/25/08) at 7 in the evening.  They will have various releases from the 7 Point Catalog for sale at that time as well as the new release.   Dromez and others will be playing as well.  We are really looking forward to this show.

Night Friends will be playing a show at The Parlor in Austin, TX on Saturday August 9th.

7-Point Records continues to be busy and productive. This year looks like it will be one of the most productive we have ever had in fact. Here are some of the things that are going on.

Scab Sand Witch's Spiritual Aparthied is now available on Itunes.
It is also available on CD Baby:  http://cdbaby.com/cd/scabsandwitch3,
Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Spiritual-Apartheid-Scab-Sand-Witch/dp/B001AZFTBO/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1214267789&sr=8-12,
and several other places that don't really know what is it they are selling to people. Check it out!!!!!!!!

akinoT has finished work on a 65 minute ambient exploration called The Godless Spectrum. Art for this project is 99% done, so it should also begin moving towards release very soon. akinoT is also currently working on a huge list of other projects, including Project of Fiction.

Meanwhile, MoonstaR and Fiery Winter are slowly progressing as well. Both projects promise to be awesome when completed. Samples from both can be heard on the 7-Point Muxtape: http://7pointrecords.muxtape.com/

Keep an eye and an ear on the muxtape. It changes regularly.

The latest Night Friends release, Nachtfreunde and the previous release, Decorations in a Ruined City are both slated for release on itunes soon as well. Justin has been busy working on getting that done, but has also been recording new songs for the next Night Friends release as well as new material for Black Dawn and Kosmodrome.

Exclusion Zone is very nearly completed. One track remains to be recorded and the album art is completed. This tribute to Roadside Picnic and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is going to be excellent.]

And finally, pay a visit to Justin's new musik, art, philosophy, politics, and entertainment discussion forum, The Bunker sometime soon. The 7-Point gang is hanging out there pretty regularly these days and would love to talk with everyone.

More news soon!

5-4-08

The new Exclusion Zone album is about half way finished and promises to be absolutely amazing. It won't be long before its finished and everyone will be able to hear the sounds of the Zone for themselves. A web site for the project is also currently under construction.

Two releases from Night Friends will soon begin their journeys toward availability through itunes and other outlets.

Progress continues on the new MoonstaR release, and SSW's Spiritual Apartheid will be released soon, as previously mentioned.

And finally: akinoT, off to make a new record:

This is an apology for what now looks like to be another late update. This will not happen in the future. We plan on giving some sort of update hopefully every month. We have been currently planning and working on some things that should be pretty exciting that will be happening over the current year. We are in the process of getting most of the catalog onto iTunes and available for purchase there and in other ways as well. If you would like to purchase a physical CD though, we do offer that as well. Email us and we will be able to provide that for you. We will also be doing an overhaul and basic re-working of the site. We are going to get rid of some of the old pages that have never been updated or won't be updated. There should be some new pages for new projects along the way as well. Here are a few things that have been accomplished and a few things that we are working on.

1. You can purchase the new Night Friends "NachtFreunde" as well as "Decorations In A Ruined City" on the Night Friends myspace page for a pretty cheap price. "Decorations" is 4.99 and "NachtFruende" is 3.99. Justin has also started working on a new full length that will be finished hopefully before the end of the year. All of the material that has been recorded up to now is currently being remastered for release on iTunes.
2. Kosmodrome is currently in the process of selecting tracks and album art for their next full length release. There will also be some special packaging releases coming out in the future. Kosmodrome will be performing April 7th at nine p.m. as a featured artist at the Internation Noise Festival that is being held at Emo's Lounge in Austin, TX. The Austin festival is being curated by Douglas Ferguson. Kosmodrome will also be playing April 11th at The Opera House with the Baltimore band Abiku in Austin, TX. Kosmodrome is also currently workling on remasters and repackaging for iTunes deployment.
3. The new Scab Sand Witch has been completely finished and is titled "Spirtual Apartheid". It will be available on iTunes very soon. We will announce that as soon as we have the date for that.
4. A Fiery Winter is working on being finished by the end of the year.
5. Exclusion Zone is currently recording basic tracks for a release at the end of this year.
6. There will be a new Pneumaura album either this year or early next year.
7. We are going to be looking at advertising at various pages on the web as well as some publications that are in print form.
8. That's it for now and we thank you for your support and love. We are looking forward to bringing you more music from our weird little family.

9-17-07

There has been alot of activity over the last few weeks. Scab Sand Witch is very close to being finished with the new album, "Spiritual Apartheid". Kosmodrome has wrapped up it's recording sessions for their new release that should come out by the end of the year. Night Friends is still recording for the "NachtFruende" EP that will be released hopefully by the end of the year.

08-08-07

After eight months of silence, 7 Point has some great news to report of our current activites. There are two new additions to the family: Exclusion Zone (which is GPS and Flep Kitsu) and Ghost hunter (GPS). The new release from Ghost Hunter, "Lucifer Principles" has already been finished and will be available at fine Austin record stores soon. Exclusion Zone is currently working on their debut full length. For our older acts, Night Friends has officially released "Decorations In A Ruined City"! After months of re-recording, re-editing, and re-mastering, it is now ready for mass consumption. Currently In the Studio: Kosmodrome is working furiously on a new full length album and a series of cassette EPs. Scab Sand Witch is currently busy with putting the finishing touches on it's new full length. Automne Vein is currently in the pre-production stages for their next full length. Night Friends will be releasing several limited edition EPs and is currently working on the follow up to "Decorations". We are also trying to get a paypal store set up so that you may order our material online. There will be some other cool announcements coming soon so stay tuned!

01-16-07

7 Point Records would like to wish everyone a happy new year! We have several things planned for 2007 and I think that it is going to be one of our most productive years. We have the new Scab Sand Witch full length coming out. We have the first Ghost Hunter EP coming out, titled "Lucifer Principles. There will be 3 new Night Friends releases for the year and several other releases that we are going to keep under out hats for the moment so that we don't blow any surprises. Kosmodrome has a show on 1/18/07 at the Emo's Lounge in Austin, TX. Sorry for the delay in news, but we have had several things going on with the holidays, work, loved ones, family, etc that we all took a bit of a break at the end of 2006. Thank you for reading and we look forward to releasing more good music in the future.

10-19-06

Kosmodrome is back from playing in Albuquerque and we would like to say that it was a huge success. It has driven us to play more shows outside of Austin in the future and start working on another full length album. We would like to thank everyone sincerely for coming to the shows and making it a very memorable experience. We would also like to give a special thanks to the Yellow Swans (nicest guys ever), Alan George Ledergerber and Derrick for making it all happen. Thank you to those who came out to the house party that we played as well. Last but not least, thank you to Scott, Jaime, Keith, Jess, the great bands, and everyone else for giving us a place to stay and making us feel so welcome.

10-03-06

Kosmodrome is playing a nice show with Yellow Swans from Oregon and with Alan George Ledergerber in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The show will be on Oct. 16th at the Peace and Justice Center beginning at 8 PM with a suggested 5 dollar donation. Our friend Alan George Ledergerber set up the show and we are really looking forward to making new friends and fans. It will give us a chance to escape to the mountains and see old friends that we have not seen for some time now. Please come out if you are in the area as we will be playing some new material and will have goodies of tour only items for sale. It is October and we would like to wish you a Happy Halloween, the ONLY holiday as far as some of us are concerned. We have some more projects coming out in the future and we look forward to giving the oppurtunity to see hear them very soon.

Night Friends will be making available B sides from these sessions for download for a limited time that will be exclusive to this site. The official release of "Decorations In A Ruined City" will be in the middle of summer due to a couple of delays in mastering and artwork.

The new "A Fiery Winter" myspace.com site is now available for your viewing pleasure. Full page on this website is under construction and is being put together as quickly as possible. 3. The release of From A Secret Place's Billion Piece Puzzle to Itunes was delayed, but the music is now available there!

7-10-05

The new SSW album, entitled When I Was A Ghost, is complete. There is a web site for it available here:

When I Was A Ghost

It is a two CD release featuring one cd of works completed individually by the members of SSW in studio settings and one cd of material written in collaboration between the members which preserves a very experimental live feel. The whole thing is awesome!

The new Automne Vein project is nearing completion as well, and what I have heard of it is incredible. I will have more updates about it as I am informed.

From A Secret Place has embarked on a new experiment recently- FASP's last CD, Billion Piece Puzzle will be available as a download through the iTunes, MSN Music, MusicMatch, and Napster services. The official release date is July 12th. There is also an extension of the FASP web site at MySpace now, which can be accessed by following this link:

The new collaboration between Justin Sweatt and Wolf Morrison, Fiery Winter, is coming along very nicely. This one features music by Justin and lyrics/ vocals by Wolf. More news will be available as the project progresses.

Another new project in the formative stages is an ambient project called Parallax, featuring collaborative efforts between Wolf and akinoT.

Justin is now working on a new Night Friends album, and Kosmodrome is recording a very interesting and ambitious project, as well.

2005 is looking like its going to be a busy and productive year for 7-Point!

5-12-05 - My internet connection has been down for the last two days, and I only just got it running again- with fifteen minutes to spare before its too late to commemorate the ten year anniversary of Scab Sand Witch. The first tape was recorded on may 12th, 1995, and things have not been quite right since then. : ) Work on the latest CD is ongoing.

All Hail the Scab.

akinoT -

mmmmm.... tastey.

4-23-05 - There are now pages with audio samples for AmphetaMe and The Musik of Erik Zann

3-28-05 - There are now three samples from Kosmodrome's 16 Hours To Die available at this page.

3-27-05 - There is a new page for the latest Night Friends release,Pinkish/ Blackish, with three full-length song files.

2-6-05 - Further update. I have discovered broken links on the sample pages for Grey Angel's 'Some Rivers Have No End.' The links have been repaired and the musik is available, again.

2-6-05 - A few small changes have been made to each of the bio pages. Justin Sweatt's bio has been redone completely at his request, and the ujournal links in each bio, along with the old the link to the old Kosmodrome page have been removed. Kosmodrome's pages on Musik As Magik remain, and a few changes have been made to them. If you follow the Instrument Assembly Module link on this page, you will find a new menu linking to all three of Kosmodrome's releases. Samples for 16 Hours Left to Die and All My Space Heroes Are Dead are not loaded yet, but I will get some up soon.

1-25-05 -  The months between the last news update and this one have been very busy for 7-Point Records, and I am happy to announce a number of things.

1. There is a new Night Friends CD available, called Pinkish/ Blackish. There is no web page associated with it yet, but there will be soon. Samples and artwork will be included. It is an awesome album.

2. After many years of silence, there is an excellent new Open Trench CD available. It is entitled "Unofficial." Work on the Open Trench pages is still in progress. Artwork and samples will be available when these are completed. Watch for news.

3. Kosmodrome has produced a new and amazing piece entitled 16 Hours To Die. News on this should be forthcoming soon. I do not have art for it yet, but I will try to get some samples up soon.

4. The new SSW is still in the works, but the latest update is that there is now artwork for it and the final touches are being put on the last few pieces for this CD. I will post more information as it becomes available.

5. And finally, From A Secret Place has at last completed their third installment, entitled Billion Piece Puzzle, and I am proud to announce that I have just uploaded the web page for it. It can be viewed here. Samples are available, and the original packaging for the artwork is viewable. The new artwork for official release has a shorter book, with only 2 pages and 4 panels, but it looks great. The first of the FASP story installments are also available at the site. Though it was a long time coming and a lot of work, I am very happy with the results on this CD. As with all titles, copies of the CD can be aquired by contacting 7-Point.

There will be more changes to the 7-Point web pages in the weeks to come as new projects come along and updates are made to existing pages!! Watch for more news!!!

5-17-04 - There is now a page for Glass Empire.

5-16-04 - The Night Friends page is now available and includes a 30 second sample from the upcoming release as well as a full-lengnth sample from the original Night Friends record, The Fever and the Fear.

Last night was the final show on the We Can Cut You tour. Here is hoping that the tour was a great experience and that all went well. A report on the events of the tour should be available soon on Peter's Ujournal.

Progress on the new From A Secret Place album continues to go well. The final songs are all nearing completion, and they sound great.

Much of the 7-Point web site has finally be equiped with tools to help the search engines find it. Let us hope this generates some traffic!

5-5-04 - More computer problems... and thus more delays on new content. However, I have recently recieved new material with which to begin building a Nightfriends site, and I hope to get to work on that very soon. Meanwhile, I have had a chance in the last month to hear Justin's newest music, and all of it is great. It is going to be a really good year for his material, to be sure. I also had the chance to preview the new Kosmodrome and to see the Kosmodrome live video. Both were excellent.

I have collected all but one of the songs for the new SSW album, and Justin is working on the art. Everything sounds very cool, including Peter's latest creation. I am not sure when this will be finalized, but it shouldn't be too long.

Work on FASP chapter III also continues. All three of the final songs are in various states of completion, and all is going well, if slowly.

I also have new dates for the upcoming We Can Cut You tour. These are taken from Peter's ujournal site. I have not heard from anyone on whether they are final, but since the first date is only days away, I assume that they are.

05/08/04 - The High Dive - Champaingn, IL - The HighDive
05/09/04 - The Elbow Room - Ypsilanti, MI - Elbow Room
05/11/04 - DC 9 - Washington, DC - DC NINE
05/13/04 - Tommy's Tavern - Brooklyn, NY -
05/14/04 - Boogaloo - Brooklyn, NY - Boogaloo
05/15/04 - Rudy's - New Haven, CT - Rudy's

The last thing I heard was that Peter was going to travel with We Can Cut You, but that Kosmodrome will not be playing any shows this time around. I hold out hope that this will change in the future.

Justin and Peter also have a new project that seems to be going very well. It is called North Loop Rangers FC. More information on that as it comes to me.

Minor changes have been made to the pages. Most notably, you will now find the name akinoT is prevalent throughout the site. : P
Hopefully more noticable changes will occur soon... if my computer lasts for more than a couple of weeks without a major crash.

3-30-04 - Most of the following changes were made on the 21st of this month, but due to a catastrophic hardware failure, they have not been uploaded until now. Due to the same failure, I am not sure how successful this upload will be. Technical difficulties may result, but I will repair any problems as I become aware of them. Changes: The bio pic on akinoT's page has changed, and now you can click on the bio pictures on each page to go to the enlarged version. Also, last week I made a couple of small changes to the merchandise at the cafepress stores.

There is now a picture of Kosmodrome on the Kosmodrome bio page, and there are three samples of Kosmodrome's musik now available on the kosmospace page. Each one is about 3 minutes long and is taken from Kosmodrome's first release.

The final piece for the new SSW album is now complete. More details on the final status of that project will be forthcoming soon.

Also, I am not sure whether I have already made this note before, but it is now possible to get into the musikasmagik.com site by clicking either on the star points OR the words associated with them. I didn't think that the star point hot-spots would be as mysterious as they evidently are.

3-19-04 Part II - I have opened two Cafe Press shops to sell a small assortment of 7-Point related items.

The 7-Point Store

The From A Secret Place Store

More such storefronts may open in the future for other projects.

3-19-04 - The pages for From A Secret Place Chapter Two are now available. Other changes and additions coming soon.

3-15-04 - I have not had much of a chance to work on the pages in a while, but that is about to change. I expect to put together a Glass Empire page soon, and I have plans for beginning the Pneumaura pages, as well as for finishing the FASP Chapter Two page. I also hope to post the Grey Angel 'Moondrop' story in the near future, as well as adding samples to the Kosmodrome page.
Justin tells me that he is working on material for a Night Friends page, and when I get that I will add it as well. So, new stuff should be coming along soon in one form or another.

Tonight I made a couple of minor corrections to the Kosmodrome pages which include correcting the spelling of the name everywhere that I could find it and fixing a couple of broken links that I missed in the original transfer to the musikasmagik server.

In other musik related news:

Scab Sand Witch should soon have a new CD available. As I understand it, there is only one track that remains to be completed, and it should be done soon. Also, Kosmodrome has completed work on their new demo, and I am told that I will recieve the raw materials for that release so that it can be mastered and reproduced here. The new From A Secret Place album is still in the works, and I am going to tentatively say that it should be wrapped up by June. I would like to see it sooner, but I am trying to be conservative. I certainly hope it will be no later.

Also: Kosmodrome is going on tour in May! They will be travelling with another of Justin's bands, the extremely cool and extremely crazy 'We Can Cut You.'

The information I have right now about the tour is incomplete, but I will update it as I learn more, so check back often!! Here is what I know:

3-2-04 - As you have no doubt noticed if you are reading this, the news page now begins with the latest post and scrolls down towards the older posts. This is thanks to a suggestion made by akinoT. Another change that has come to the site is the introduction of the new Kosmodrome pages on the musikasmagik.com server. I have left the link to the old pages intact for now, but after consulting with Peter, who maintains that site, I will eventually make the 7-Point site the main link. That's it for now.

2-29-04 - I spent the weekend working on the new FASP album and made some significant progress. I also managed to get the Akino Taurus page up with samples of akinoT's musik. I am not sure yet whether I am happy with the page or not, but at least there is something up there. If I change it, I will make a note here.

2-27-04 - I am happy to announce that the bio page for Peter Telck is now available. Also, minor changes have been made to the pictures on the main bio page and on the bio page for Wolf.

2-26-04 - I sent out links to the site last night, and so far all is going well. Responses have been very positive. Tonight I posted a link on the FASP forum pages as well. The forum can be found at http://sercretplace.proboards26.com, and is linked to the fasp page as well. In addition to this, I created and uploaded two very short samples of musik from the new FASP project. They can be found here:

This weekend I plan to get Peter's bio page done. I also plan on devoting some time to working on the new FASP. I hope to have the musik completed in the next month or two. At any rate, the CD will be out this year. I think it is the best thing From A Secret Place has ever done. I'm quite happy with the concept and the musik. Watch for updates on this in the future.

Also, according to my "sources," Kosmodrome has recently completed the recording of their new album. I will post more information on that as it becomes available to me. They are currently looking for opportunities to perform live in the Austin area, and I will keep that situation up to date, too.

2-25-04 - After two long days of frustration, the email problems have been resolved. I am updating every page tonight to ensure that the new contact information
for 7-Point is correct. And then I am going to take a break for a couple of days and play Uru... a LOT.

2-23-04 - Due to an assortment of problems with both the host and my own hardware, it has taken me much longer than I had expected to get this thing going, but, at last, it seems there is victory. 7-Point Records is live even as I type this. Tomorrow I hope to be able to put up a bio page for Peter, because that is the most glaring deficiency at the present time, and over the days and weeks to come, I will be adding as much as I can to the content of these pages. I look forward to getting input from everyone during the process as well. This is the start of something good.

2-12-04 - Scab Sand Witch pages got a lot of work tonight and are coming along nicely. I also worked a little on the Grey Angel page and removed the java pull-down menus from the side-bar on all of the pages. Big improvements, I think. I have lots of ideas for things to fix and finish this weekend. I hope to get FASP II done, put up the Moondrop pages, finish all of the Scab Sand Witch pages except for the links and maybe the photo page, and fix some of the song file titles for easier reference. These things need to be done, really, before the initial upload. They are the minimum requirements for my satisfaction. Of course, I want all of the other bands up as well, but these are the ones that I have started, and I want to all or nothing on the current list of works in progress.

2-11-04 - The web site is ours now, as well as the domain name. I got the confirmation call at work and the email at lunch. Now I can get to work on learning how all of this functions. I also have a ton of ideas for the site, suddenly. A lot of things I have been thinking about for a while just fell into place today. If I can find some time in the next few days, I may be able to load a lot more than I thought I was going to on the first run. Here's hoping.

2-10-04 - Things are moving along. I got some email from Justin and Peter today. Justin sent me his descriptions of the bands that I asked him for. And here's the good news: I just purchased our web space and domain name. I hope to get the confirmation call tomorrow, and then have the domain name in the next couple of days. If all goes well, and I have time to work on everything, I should be able upload a version of the site by the end of the weekend, and then this news page will be live!

2-9-04 - Project page has been updated with new artwork. Links have been checked, all pages have been formatted. I recieved word from the remaining members of 7-Point today, and everyone is in favor of launching the site. If  I don't have time to get the process underway tonight, I will certianly do so tomorrow evening at the first available opportunity. Barring unforseen circumstances, the site should be up by the end of the week. I have never actually done this before though, so there may steps involved of which I am not aware. We shall see.

2-7-04 - I am considering launching the site despite its incomplete status. Some work will need to be done to make it easier to navigate, to check links, and to clean it up. I will also need to consult with the other members of 7-Point to see if they are in agreement. If they are, I will begin the process of aquiring the space and uploading the available material, most likely within the week.

I talked to akinoT tonight, and he is for it. He has also given me the link to the new FASP 3 forum, and I will be adding that and the link to the FASP 3 site he is maintaining to the current From A Secret Place pages.

A letter will be going out to the other members tonight. I hope to hear from them soon.
